EVERYTHING
IS A MATTER
OF RACIAL EQUITY.

Our Work

Every day we ask and answer the
central question, "if Council passes this
bill, how will it impact Black, Indigenous,
and other residents of color?
"

Our Values

We are committed to doing quality
work in a way we, the Council, and the residents of DC can be proud of. Learn
about the principles that guide us.

Our Team

Collaboration is necessary to achieving
racial equity in the District of Columbia.
Get to know our team, let us get to
know you, and let's get to work!

Our work is public.

A Racial Equity Impact Assessment (REIA) is a careful and organized examination of how different racial and ethnic groups
will likely be affected by a proposed bill or resolution. All completed REIAs are publicly available in our database.

Wake Up Everybody

Music has always been central to the movement for social, racial, and economic justice. It is an avenue to creatively express the joy, pain, struggle, and hope of those who have come before us and those who work alongside us.

“In Favor of the People” is a poem written about CORE by Luki, a poet from DC. The video also features the song “Say U Won’t” by Brasstracks. We hope this poem brings you as much hope and joy as it brings us.

We have found the fair
Gotten to the CORE of the causes of despair
We made history
Got into some good trouble and stayed there
Watched the tables turn fair
In favor of the people
